Aadhya: Trajectory reflects on movement across space, disciplines, and geographies. Inspired by the legacy of Kalpana Chawla, the work brings together scientific inquiry and personal journey, where equations, orbital paths, and landscapes coexist.
“Aadhya,” meaning the beginning or the source, anchors the piece in origin and in what we carry forward as we move beyond where we begin. The figure holds a blueprint that suggests not just motion through space, but the shaping of possibility itself.
For immigrants, trajectory is layered. It is not only about distance traveled, but about translating knowledge, identity, and ambition into new contexts while staying connected to where it began.
The work also reframes the idea of the Western frontier through science and knowledge. It is no longer defined by land alone, but by discovery and innovation, and by the communities who continue to expand its future.
